Lincolnshire Mainstream SEND Hubs – Training Begins

We are delighted to have delivered the first training session in preparation for the launch of Lincolnshire’s new Mainstream SEND Hubs.
The SEND Hubs initiative represents a significant step forward in creating more inclusive educational opportunities for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Recognising that some children and young people with EHCPs can thrive in mainstream settings, the strategy supports the development of specialist hubs within mainstream schools.
These Mainstream SEND Hubs will:
-
Provide enhanced facilities and specialist staff
-
Offer a supportive, inclusive environment tailored to individual pupil needs
-
Ensure pupils remain on the mainstream roll and are included in whole-school life where appropriate
-
Facilitate placements through the formal EHCP process
This first training session, facilitated by LEARN SEND Hub, brought together school leaders and practitioners from across the county. It focused on preparing schools for the implementation and operational delivery of the hubs, ensuring that staff feel confident and informed ahead of launch.
The training marks the beginning of a crucial journey toward bridging the gap between mainstream and specialist settings, offering a model of provision that maintains high expectations, inclusive practice, and a commitment to meeting all learners’ needs.
We’re proud to support this initiative and look forward to continuing our work with schools and Lincolnshire County Council throughout the rollout.
